Blue Gemini is a techno-thriller series which follows several characters who are involved in a secret USAF manned program during the Cold War era.
The story opens in 1968, when the US learns that the Soviets are working to put up a nuclear OBS (Orbital Bombardment System). That leads to a US counter-effort (Blue Gemini) in which crews are sent up to execute surreptitious IIK (Intercept-Inspect-Kill) missions on Soviet satellites suspected of being part of the OBS. Although its fiction, readers will find that it accurately represents the technology and military culture of that period, on both sides of the Iron Curtain.
